A terrarium is a self-contained world for plants that takes very little water or maintenance. With California’s drought, it may be the perfect time to try a terrarium. They are fun and you don’t need a green thumb to plant or grow one.
Terrariums can be made from any glass jar, bowl or container. You just need to add pebbles, charcoal, soil, plants and decorations. The key to a healthy terrarium is to not overwater them.
Berkeley Hort now has terrariums, terrarium kits and terrarium supplies, including glass bowls that are 12”, 10” and 8”. The kits include everything that you will need (with instructions) except the plants and decorations.
